Website visits and hosting
When you open this website, technical data such as your IP address, browser details, the requested page and the time of access are transmitted to the hosting infrastructure to deliver the site, maintain security and investigate faults. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in operating a secure, functional website (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). Hosting providers may process these data on our behalf. Technical logs are kept only as long as necessary for these purposes, subject to applicable retention requirements.
Enquiries and bookings
If you contact us by email, telephone or WhatsApp, we process the information you provide, such as your name, contact details, proposed dates, experience and tour preferences, to answer your enquiry, prepare an offer and arrange guiding. The legal basis is taking steps at your request before a contract or performing a contract (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR). Where necessary, we may share relevant booking details with participating guides, huts or other providers involved in your trip. We keep correspondence while needed for the enquiry or booking and thereafter for applicable legal obligations or legitimate claims. Please avoid sending sensitive health information through the website or WhatsApp unless needed for your safety and discussed with us directly.
External services
The Instagram feed on the homepage is supplied by Elfsight. On your first visit, you can allow or decline it. Once allowed, the feed loads automatically on future visits in this browser for up to 180 days. You can also allow it with “Load Instagram posts” at the feed. Loading it can transmit your IP address and browser data to Elfsight and possibly Meta/Instagram; those providers may set cookies or process data outside the EEA under their own policies. The feed is optional and loads on the basis of your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR). You can withdraw your choice above; for cookies already set by external providers, use your browser controls.
Some pages display media from Ortovox or images served by Jimdo. Opening a page containing this content can disclose technical access data, including your IP address, to the respective provider. The purpose is to show the content (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). We also link to WhatsApp and other third-party websites. Their services and privacy practices apply when you follow those links or send a message through them.
International transfers, retention and rights
External providers may process data outside the European Economic Area. Where legally required, transfers must be protected by an appropriate transfer mechanism. We do not operate an on-site booking form, advertising tracker or newsletter subscription. You can request access, correction, erasure, restriction or portability of your personal data and object to processing based on legitimate interests. You can withdraw consent for future processing. Contact us at info@skiguides-obergurgl.com. You may also lodge a complaint with the Austrian Data Protection Authority.
