What to expect.
The Eisseekögele is the classic day tour above Obergurgl. A short approach, north-facing open slopes, an exciting summit ridge and the possibility of a traverse make it one of the most popular objectives in the area.
The route requires secure kick turns and confident skiing away from prepared terrain. Its airy final section gives the tour a distinctly alpine character, while the broad slopes below offer a particularly rewarding descent.
The tour can also be used as a traverse either on the approach to the Langtalereck Hut or on the return from the hut.
