The tour
What to expect.
The first day leads from Obergurgl to the Langtalereck Hut in around three hours, covering 600 vertical metres and 6.5 kilometres.
On the second day we descend through the Gurgler Gorge before skinning across the Gurgler Ferner and Kleinleitenferner to the Schalfkogeljoch. From there, the final ascent leads to one of the defining summits above Obergurgl.
For experienced skiers and suitable conditions, a direct and steep descent onto the Gurgler Ferner may be possible. The summit ascent takes approximately four to four and a half hours and includes around 1,540 vertical metres.
