A descent-oriented summit tour through the quiet Königstal, with an easy climbing section and a choice of rewarding ski lines.
We approach through the Königstal, pass the old customs house and continue to the east ridge. Easy scrambling over blocky terrain leads to the summit and wide views towards the glaciated Ötztal peaks and the north face of the Granatenkogel.
We can start in Hochgurgl or use the lifts to the Top Mountain Star and begin with a descent of approximately 500 metres into the valley. From the lift, the ascent takes around three hours and gains roughly 600 vertical metres.
The descent can continue to the hamlet of Poschach at 1,800 metres. Depending on snow and ability, we choose between a more moderate line and a steeper variant.

An accessible 3,000-metre summit above the Ferwall Valley, combining enjoyable ski terrain with a short alpine summit passage.
The route leads from Obergurgl through the quiet Ferwall Valley to the snowy Ferwalljoch and continues towards the Essener Spitze. A short, slightly exposed climbing passage gives access to the panoramic summit.
Using the Festkogel lift saves approximately 500 vertical metres of piste ascent and starts the day with a 200-metre descent. From the lift, the climb takes around three and a half hours and gains approximately 800 vertical metres.
From the summit, the view extends from the Zillertal Alps and the Dolomites across the entire Gurgler ridge. The full tour from Obergurgl takes approximately four and a half to five hours of ascent.

The Obergurgl classic: north-facing ski slopes, a varied ascent and an airy summit ridge in a striking high-alpine setting.
A relatively short approach leads into beautiful north-facing terrain below the Eisseekögele. The broad slopes provide excellent skiing, while the final summit ridge adds an exciting alpine finish to this classic day tour.
From Obergurgl, the ascent takes approximately four and a half hours and gains around 1,320 vertical metres. Using the lift shortens the climb to about three and a half hours and approximately 1,000 vertical metres.
Depending on conditions, the tour can also be completed as a traverse on the approach to or return from the Langtalereck Hut.

A quieter alternative to the Eisseekögele, with open north-facing slopes, an exposed summit and several rewarding descent options.
The Vorderer Seelenkogel stands somewhat in the shadow of its better-known neighbour, yet offers everything we look for in a classic ski tour: an efficient approach, broad open slopes and an exciting summit above the Rotmoos Valley.
Starting in Obergurgl, the ascent takes approximately five to six hours and gains around 1,380 vertical metres. Using both sections of the Hohe Mut lift saves about 300 metres of ascent and begins the day with a descent of roughly 400 metres.
From the Rotmoos Valley, allow approximately four hours and around 1,060 vertical metres to the summit. The final route and descent are selected according to the conditions.

A long, varied tour to a quiet summit in the Ramolkamm, with steeper climbing, extensive ski terrain and an exceptional panorama.
The Manigenbachkogel is an insider tip in the Ramolkamm. Although the summit looks modest from the valley, the mountain opens into ideal ski terrain with numerous possible descent lines.
The ascent from Obergurgl takes approximately five hours and gains around 1,450 vertical metres. Good fitness and secure kick turns are essential for this longer day.
From the summit, the views extend across Obergurgl, the Gurgler main ridge and the Weißkamm. We choose the best descent for the snow and the ability of the group.
