The lower section stays in friendly A/B terrain before the route divides. The right-hand line continues at A to B and is well suited to beginners and families, while the left-hand line reaches grade C and feels more exposed.
Both alternatives lead into a beautiful high-alpine setting above the Gurgler Valley. Depending on the chosen line, allow approximately one and a half to two hours for the climb and three to three and a half hours for the complete outing with the lift descent.

Stuibenfall
An impressive waterfall route with bridges, exposed traverses and a choice of finishes — adventurous, varied and suitable for active families with the right safeguarding.

The line climbs beside the Stuibenfall and crosses the water on a spectacular bridge. An exposed traverse and a steeper key section lead upwards before we choose between the upper bridge and a more direct, easier exit.
The complete experience, including the descent, takes around three hours. Children from approximately ten years can join when their size, confidence and the safeguarding setup are suitable.

Zirbenwald
A playful and compact route through the stone-pine forest, combining suspension bridges, traverses and short steep sections — a rewarding choice for athletic beginners and families.

The route follows natural ledges and rock steps through the Zirbenwald. Rope bridges and airy traverses add variety, while several short vertical sections and small overhangs provide a satisfying challenge without making the day too long.
The climb takes around one and a half to two hours; including the descent, the complete outing lasts approximately three hours.

Lehner Wasserfall
One location with very different possibilities: a classic waterfall route for families and beginners, plus a powerful D/E line for experienced climbers with excellent strength and technique.

The classic line follows the rock beside the waterfall in varied B/C terrain. A short overhang can be bypassed, and a rope bridge provides an exciting finish. With appropriate additional safeguarding, it can suit children from around ten years.
Experienced climbers can choose the Wasserfall line, graded D/E. Its exposed vertical passages and short overhangs demand strong arms, precise footwork and confidence in steep terrain. The classic circuit takes approximately two to two and a half hours including the descent.

Schwärzenkamm
The long high-alpine option: a scenic ridge above the Langtalereck Hut with mostly moderate climbing, short demanding passages and a full mountain-day character.
Schwärzenkamm

From the Langtalereck Hut, the approach takes approximately two and a half hours. The protected ridge then follows mostly A/B terrain, interrupted by several steeper C/D passages that require secure movement and good stamina.
Allow around three hours for the via ferrata, four and a half hours back to the hut and approximately eight hours for the complete day from Obergurgl.

Burgsteiner Wand
A classic sport via ferrata on the Burgsteiner Wand: steep, exposed and consistently athletic, with spectacular positions and deep views into the valley.

The climb begins immediately with steep C/D and D terrain. After a short easier ridge, the overhanging D crux leads into further steep passages, a narrow cleft and a long, beautiful slab traverse.
Allow one and a half to two hours for the climb and three to four hours for the complete outing including the descent. This tour is best suited to experienced climbers with strength, efficient technique and a head for exposure.
